Batwoman Pilot Will Take Place Before ‘Elseworlds’ Crossover

Some interesting tidbits have just arrived from Batwoman producer Greg Berlanti! According to the Arrowverse guru, the pilot will actually be taking place prior to Kate Kane’s debut in last year’s Elseworlds crossover.

“[The Batwoman pilot is an] origin story that we set up predates the crossover; it’s a story prior to the crossover.”

The pilot is currently filming in Vancouver, Canada and will be done within the next three weeks. Per several trades, the show is very likely being eyed for series pick-up, which will happen most likely around May for the CW Upfronts.

“Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope. Based on the characters from DC.”
