Anyone ever told you one of the girls on the podcast sound like the girl that played Livewire
No, but sometimes, I think that about myself. I’m pretty hard on Supergirl. Though, I think it’s warranted a lot of the time 🙂
Thanks for listening!
Oh no I don’t mean that you’re hard on her. But your voice actually sounds like her.
I actually think it’s Teresa that sounds like her.
Here’s the thing about the letter for me; it’s not at that she interfered in Kat and Adam’s relationship, it’s how. Kara wants to be helpful. They even talked about it in the end scene with her and Alex. She see’s a problem, she wants to try to fix it, it’s her nature. So interfering is completely within character. What wasn’t in character was writing a fake letter in the guise of Kat Grant. Lying and being deceptive are what was out of character. Had she written a letter as herself, telling Adam about Kat and asking him to reach out to her, then the story would have felt much more in character.
BTW, I still think Kat knows her identity. All the evidence that let to her deduction is still valid. So I think she now wonders who is running around that can impersonate Supergirl. I don’t want to believe she is so easily convinced out it.
Cheers, and thanks for the great podcast.
Ah! Gotcha 🙂
(Though, I am hard on Supergirl, sometimes. But, it’s always out of love.)
I couldnt disagree with you more on your view of the Kara/Cat relationship. I think you need to do a very hardcore objective view of this relationship.
Kara 100% respects Cat, even when ambushed by a random question from a “stranger” Kara sticks up for Cat. “you can believe all the rumors and youtube comments or you can meet her yourself and for your own opinion”. Later in the episode when Adam asks where Kara is, “probably in the bathroom picking muffin out of her hair”. doesnt sound too respectful too me.
in the episode “hostile takeover”, Kara saves Cat from a very personal and emotional media firestorm that was coming her way and in doing so discover Kara’s secret. The very next morning how does Cat greet Kara, “here you are like a normal boring person”; and proceeded throughout the episode to go for the “ah ha gotcha moment” instead of just having a chat with Kara.
Kat is disrespectful and abusive (bordering on hostile) to Kara and thankfully for Cat Kara is a good person and just takes it because she respects Cat.
In regards to the letter, did Kara cross a boundary, maybe but sometimes people need an external intervention. Cat would have lived on with her greatest regret and never let her guard down without being thrust into the situation. Kara didnt ask for permission on it because it would have never been given, but it would not have come from Cat’s heart it would have come from Cat’s guarded exterior.
